HEYLO · by VEA Group — Hey-Milky

heyMILKY

The automatic induction milk station that frees up the barista

A classic steam wand always ties the barista down – it demands constant attention from start to finish. heyMILKY changes that equation: a standalone induction milk station that heats and froths milk or plant-based drinks straight from the fridge and dispenses the selected texture into the pitcher, while the barista pulls espresso, preps the next order, or serves guests at the same time. Designed by Heylo, the innovation brand of Italy's VEA Group – the same industrial family behind Carimali and Elektra.

Induction, not steam – and it runs in parallel

heyMILKY draws milk or a plant-based beverage directly from the fridge, heats and froths it using induction technology, and dispenses the selected texture straight into the pitcher – a 120ml cappuccino is ready in 18 seconds, according to the manufacturer. Unlike a traditional steam wand, which requires the barista's constant attention, milk preparation on heyMILKY runs fully automatically and unsupervised, in parallel with the rest of the workflow behind the counter.

  • Induction heating, straight from the fridge – no steam wand needed
  • 120ml cappuccino milk ready in 18 seconds (manufacturer figure)
  • Runs unsupervised, in parallel with espresso and other tasks

25+ foam textures, less than 1% waste

A 4.3" touchscreen selects the recipe, temperature and volume. heyMILKY offers 25+ foam textures, adjustable per recipe, with automatic calibration and an optional manual adjustment. Thanks to its milk return system and precise per-recipe dosing, waste is reduced to less than 1%. It works with both dairy milk and plant-based beverages, hot or cold.

  • 25+ foam textures, adjustable per recipe
  • Less than 1% milk waste, thanks to the return system
  • Dairy & plant-based, hot & cold – 4.3" touchscreen control

Transparency note: the manufacturer's own brochure also contains an unrelated "over 100 texture levels" figure elsewhere in its body text, which contradicts the "25+" figure confirmed both on the brochure's own feature summary and on the manufacturer's current website. We use "25+" as the more reliable, twice-confirmed figure.

Hygiene made simple

heyMILKY runs an automatic sanitising cycle of 8–10 minutes, with detergent detection and no need for staff supervision. This automated cycle doesn't replace baseline maintenance – milk lines, seals and other wear parts still need regular checking, as with any professional milk system.

  • Automatic sanitising cycle, 8–10 minutes, unsupervised
  • Detergent detection
  • Compact footprint, approx. 15 kg – fits tight counters and modular bar setups

Two milk types, one compact station

heyMILKY allows convenient management of two different milk or plant-based beverages, with easy switching during service. Customisable panels with LED lights let venues tailor the look to their own style. An optional angled pitcher support is available for, according to the manufacturer, an even finer texture.

  • Two milk types manageable in one unit, easy switching during service
  • Customisable panels with LED lighting
  • Optional accessory: angled pitcher support
Important manufacturer clarification: cross-contamination between different milk types is not guaranteed. For venues with strict requirements (drinks explicitly marketed as "100% dairy-free", guests with a milk-protein allergy), this should be taken seriously when designing the menu.

Separately, the unit "Wh" (watt-hours) is unusual for a standby consumption figure, normally expressed in watts; we report it exactly as stated by the manufacturer, without reinterpreting it.

Comparison

heyMILKY vs. a traditional steam wand

Traditional steam wand

  • Attention required: constant supervision by the barista
  • Parallel tasks: not possible – the barista is tied up
  • Consistency between baristas: heavily dependent on experience
  • Milk waste: experience-dependent, often leftovers
  • Texture variety: depends on manual technique
  • Cleaning: manual after every use
  • Two milk types: usually one per pitcher, manually swapped

heyMILKY

  • Attention required: automated, unsupervised (manufacturer figure)
  • Parallel tasks: espresso/other tasks at the same time (manufacturer figure)
  • Consistency between baristas: less dependent on operator experience (manufacturer figure)
  • Milk waste: less than 1%, thanks to the recovery system
  • Texture variety: 25+ preset textures
  • Cleaning: automatic 8–10 minute cycle
  • Two milk types: manageable in one unit – cross-contamination not guaranteed

This comparison covers workflow, consistency and waste – not taste quality, for which no independent data is available.
