The BRITA AquaAroma Crema is the compact filter cartridge for mobile coffee and espresso machines with an integrated water tank. It reduces carbonate hardness in drinking water, effectively protects the machine from limescale build-up, and improves the taste, aroma and crema of every single cup. An adjustable aroma ring fine-tunes filter performance to local water quality – for consistently great coffee, wherever the machine is located.

What makes AquaAroma Crema different?

What makes AquaAroma Crema different?

Unlike simple water filters, the AquaAroma Crema works on a suction principle: with every cup, water is freshly drawn through the cartridge and filtered directly before brewing – for consistent quality from the first cup to the last. The cartridge fits directly into the water tank without tools or an additional bracket, and can even be installed horizontally.
01 — Full aroma & taste
The filter material reduces substances that impair taste and smell, such as chlorine. Thanks to reduced water hardness, milk no longer curdles in coffee, and the crema stays fine, firm and stable.
02 — Protects the machine
Reducing carbonate hardness prevents limescale build-up inside the machine, lowers maintenance costs and extends the life of expensive components such as the heating system and brew group.
03 — Adjustable aroma ring
Using the included test strips, you determine local water hardness and set the aroma ring to level A, B or C – matching filter performance precisely to local water quality.
04 — Easy installation & replacement
No tools, no additional bracket required. The cartridge is inserted directly into the water tank – even horizontally – and can be swapped out in seconds.

Actual filter capacity depends on local carbonate hardness. The harder the water, the more often the cartridge should be replaced. The following figures apply per aroma ring setting:

The capacities shown were determined under typical application and machine conditions. Deviations may occur due to raw water quality or machine type. Regardless of capacity reached, we recommend replacing the cartridge at least every 2–3 months if the machine has no electronic filter-change indicator.

AquaAroma Crema is NOT intended for home bean-to-cup machines with a built-in grinder, such as those from JURA, Siemens, Melitta or Bosch – these typically require a BRITA INTENZA cartridge with a matching filter head. Commercial WMF coffee machines use their own WMF Aqua filter system. Please check your machine's manual before purchasing if you are unsure – we are happy to help.
