Since 1927, WMF has built a genuine centre of excellence for professional coffee at its home site in Geislingen. Development, production, sourcing, sales, logistics and even its own metalworking all happen under one roof. Almost every WMF coffee machine in use worldwide today – including the models we carry at Solino – leaves this very site. Keeping everything in one place means shorter decision paths, closer coordination between engineering and manufacturing, and ultimately a consistently high quality that has proven itself for decades.
A key part of this manufacturing depth is WMF’s own stainless-steel processing. Rather than sourcing components from third parties, WMF handles practically every step in-house – from turning and milling to ongoing component and batch inspection. A good example is the precision-made grinding discs, which play a major role in the long service life of the grinders. Anyone who has seen how differently a grinder can perform after thousands of cups knows just how much rides on manufacturing quality at this stage.
Every machine is the result of an interdisciplinary team: more than 140 specialists in IT, electronics and mechanical engineering are involved at every stage of production. They ensure not only technical precision but also safety and environmental protection throughout the entire manufacturing chain. The result is a machine that reliably delivers the same cup quality year after year – whether it’s running in a small office in Athens or a large hotel operation on Crete.
WMF’s commitment to safety and environmental responsibility isn’t just a promise – it’s certified: to DIN ISO 9001 (quality management), ISO 14001 (environmental management) and ISO 45001 (occupational health and safety). Every single machine is thoroughly tested for durability and function after production, before it ever leaves the factory.
WMF coffee machines aren’t designed for short-term use – they’re built for long-term, continuous operation in hospitality and office settings. Components are easy to inspect, replace and repair, and automated cleaning systems extend service life even further. And even once a model eventually reaches the end of its production run, matching spare parts remain available for up to eight more years – something we at Solino consider especially important when recommending a long-term investment to our customers.
